An indigenous company operating a fleet of vessels offshore Nigeria seeks to employ a Marine Superintendent to supervise and oversee the maintenance of their vessels.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee the maintenance of Tugs, Patrol vessels, and Barges
- Maintain communication between the vessels and shore on vessel matters
- Organize and conduct vessels’ audits/inspections
- Plan, monitor and participate in maintenance/repair of deck/bridge equipment
- Prepare and monitor maintenance, repairs, navigation, cargo and drydocking activities of tankers, in a cost efficient and time effective manner
- Train senior deck officers and crew and participate in their evaluation
- Monitor vessel performance and ship’s staff compliance with management policies, international and local Maritime regulations
- Ensure compliance with regulations/legislation
- Undertake marine, navigation, cargo, and other related inspections
Requirements
- HND/Degree in Shipping and Maritime transport or relevant course
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience
- Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal and written)
- Very good command of MS Office Applications and adept in Computer applications
