Job Description
  • Collect and analyze data on challenges across the group’s business operations to enable the development and implementation of Internal Audit strategies, plans, and programme.
  • Assist in audit planning and actively participate in carrying out a routine audit of the group’s business operations as well as special investigation(s) as instructed.
  • Assess compliance with laws, regulations, and code of business practices.
  • Ensure that all reviewed transactions are wholly, reasonably, exclusively and necessarily consummated for the Company
  • Escalate identified business control weaknesses to the Internal Audit Manager and initiates workable solutions.
  • Investigate violations to the Group’s operational procedures and makes recommendations on appropriate preventive or remedial actions.
  • Participate in the review and update of the Group’s Internal Control policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Liaise with the Finance Unit and external auditors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of statutory audits.
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the Supervisor/Line Manager.
Key Qualifications
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in internal auditing
  • Relevant certification
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to learn industry standards

  • Supervise and oversee the maintenance of Tugs, Patrol vessels, and Barges
  • Maintain communication between the vessels and shore on vessel matters
  • Organize and conduct vessels’ audits/inspections
  • Plan, monitor and participate in maintenance/repair of deck/bridge equipment
  • Prepare and monitor maintenance, repairs, navigation, cargo and drydocking activities of tankers, in a cost efficient and time effective manner
  • Train senior deck officers and crew and participate in their evaluation
  • Monitor vessel performance and ship’s staff compliance with management policies, international and local Maritime regulations

Requirements

An indigenous company operating in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry wants to hire a Technical Superintendent. The ideal candidate will be assisting the Technical Managers to ensure adequate cover on a day to day basis.
  • Coordinate and control the supply of spare parts and necessary vessel equipment.
  • Provide guidance and solutions to technical issues to ensure the full technical readiness and optimum performance of the vessels in meeting the service commitments of the company.
  • Provide a leading role and technical expertise in the event of an emergency response situation.
  • Promote safety and safe working practices as an operational necessity.
  • Provide effective communication across all levels within the company to inform of significant operational/technical issues that impact on the availability of vessels.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor maintenance programmes and dry-docking.
  • Keep proper operational records.
  • Inspect regularly the vessels regarding compliance with safety, environmental protection, and hygiene as per international safety management code requirements.
  • Assist the crew during cases of troubleshooting.
  • Be constantly aware of the situation of the vessels, the maintenance status and the repairs needs of the vessels on a short, medium and long term basis.
  • Develop the annual technical department budget.
  • Arrange for closure of deficiencies found in vetting, psc inspections, charterers inspections, p&i club surveys, etc.
Skills/Qualifications
  • A degree from a Nautical Institution (Certificate of Competency STCW Regulation III/2)
  • 5 years seagoing experience as an engineer officer with a minimum of 2 in the rank of chief engineer on tankers
  • The seagoing experience may be waived provided other relevant experience like shipyard and/or new-building site work has been performed, classification society surveyor.
  • Preferably minimum of 3 years' experience as a technical superintendent in a tanker management shipping company or background as Naval Architect or Marine/Mechanical Engineer and experience with a shipping company, classification society
  • Proficiency in the use of English language (Written and spoken)
  • Decision making and leadership skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage, work and deal with people from multi-ethnic background.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and good organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Commitment to work outside office hours.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.

  • Supervise freight flow processes and maintain stock areas
  • Focus on efficient processes and continuous operational improvement.
  • Ensure subcontractors operate according to set requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Supervise activities and functions of Learning Administrators and Coordinators.
  • Develop training needs analysis and annual development plan
  • Identify personnel and supervisors who are in need of additional training.
  • Develop in-house training courses and faculty development
  • Develop curricula for different levels of employees within the organization.
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks
  • Work with Head L&D on Implementation of IDP (Individual development plan) for talents
  • Liaison with external training institutions/ITF Relations
  • Ensure vendors selection and evaluation processes and exercises are conducted.
  • Facilitate staff training sessions and ensure post-training evaluations are conducted.
